Hi,
I'm trying to learn , so bare with me here. I want to get this FW card ...

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Syba-Low-P...661852&hash=item1a75076d0b:g:NoAAAOSwyQVcYXyb

for my PC so I can use my 18 channel mixer. I just want to make sure it will work on my gigabyte MB (B365M DS3H) According to the specs, This card has 1 lane. Since I'm not sure what that all means, I wanted to ask an expert here first? My MB does have a PCI exp. x1 slot, so it should work, right? Just not sure about the "lane" and "channels" thing?

Thanks for the help

x1 means 1 lane
x2 is 2 lanes
x4 is 4 lanes and so on
the x# and the lanes signify how much bandwidth the card will need. x1 is more than enough for IEEE 1394.
PCIe v3 x1 958MBps. IEEE 1394 800Mbps which is 100MBps. the card on x1 has enough bandwidth for 9 x IEEE 1394 ports.
