PCI-express slots

Hi everyone,
Is it possible to use a long (x16) PCI-express slot to run a PCI-express x1 card (in this case, a TV tuner card), or do I need to have a x1 slot to run such a card?

nope, no special slot needed. an x1, x4 or x8 card will run just fine in an x16 slot. you can even take an x16 card and run it in an x1, x4 or x8 slot as long as the end of the slot is open to allow the card to stick thru. you loose bandwidth avail to the x16 card by putting it in a smaller slot, but it will work.
