Question PCI Gen4 in Gen5 Slots

I have a PCI Gen4 M.2, and Gen4 Graphics card. My new Motherboard has Gen5 slots, (just for future proofing) . Is there any advantage or disadvantage on putting the gen4 equipment in those slots ? Yes i know I will not get getting any speed increase. More of a question about better for the PCI Lane usage.

It will work at Gen 4 speed.
