Question Pci Wifi Adapter

Please suggest some good mid range internal WiFi adapter card that could give good speed for downloading and gaming. I’ve tried D-Link DWA 131 and Tp-Link WN823n but they both lack speed and shows constant error of driver & connectivity. My modem is on same floor but in another room.

It looks like both of those adapters are 2.4 GHz only. Is your modem 2.4 only, or is it dual band?
What is the model of your modem?

In general, all of the 'nano' and very small USB adapters are pretty bad - they just don't have room for a decent antenna.

My Modem Is D-link DSL 224 provided by my isp (airtel) which is 2.4 ghz only but i also use netgear ex3700 network extender which is a dual band extender. also noticed that whenever i connect a usb 3.0 hard disk it knockouts the wifi connection.
