Soo i want to buy a gtx 1050 and i am asking myself will it work and what are the risks of frying something i read that if it works there will be a bottleneck from 10%-20% but i am still not sure of frying something
Theoretically it should work, but there is one BUT:
Make sure your old motherboard supports new GPUs. You might need a BIOS update or it won't work at all. Find your motherboard's exact model and search some info about it, something like what is the latest generation of Nvidia's GPUs your motherboard supports. Proceed only when you know your MOBO supports Nvidia's 10xx series GPUs.
