Question PCIE 4.0 not running full speed

in cpuz it says my gpu is at pcie gen 4 x8 8gt/s but also says max supported x16 16gt/s
even under full load it does not change is there anything I can do about this?

To add to that, we need the full system specs of make and model for MOBO, RAM, CPU, and PSU at a minimum. Are you running any M.2 drives, as some impact the performance of the PCIe slot based on location / settings (based on MOBO design).

okay so I reinstalled the card and it is at x16 now but still 8 gt/s

now I know x470 doesn't fully support pcie 4.0 however I was informed that it would let you run gen 4 at a lesser speed

Seems to me just the limitation of your motherboards pcie 3.0 slot.

8gt/s is single lane, disable pcie downclock in power plan settings, otherwise ull see slow speed when gpu isnt used
