I'm new to the whole PCIE network card world. I was looking for advice on what PCIE ethernet card I could get that is compatible with Windows 10 and would not be a bottleneck for my internet.

Intel provided me with a list of their network cards that are Windows 10 compatible:

Intel® 82599EB 10 Gigabit Ethernet Controller
Intel® 82599ES 10 Gigabit Ethernet Controller
Intel® 82579LM Gigabit Ethernet PHY
Intel® 82579V Gigabit Ethernet PHY
Intel® Ethernet Controller I350-AM4
Intel® Ethernet Controller I350-BT2
Intel® Ethernet Controller I350-AM2
Intel® Ethernet Converged Network Adapter X540-T1
Intel® Ethernet Converged Network Adapter X540-T2
Intel® Ethernet Server Adapter I350-T2
Intel® Ethernet Server Adapter I350-T4
Intel® Ethernet Connection I217-LM
Intel® Ethernet Controller X540-AT2
Intel® Ethernet Controller X540-BT2
Intel® Ethernet Controller I210-AT
Intel® Ethernet Controller I210-IS
Intel® Ethernet Controller I210-IT
Intel® Ethernet Controller I211-AT
Intel® 82599EN 10 Gigabit Ethernet Controller
Intel® Ethernet Server Adapter I210-T1
Intel® Ethernet Connection I217-V
Intel® Ethernet Connection I218-V
Intel® Ethernet Connection I218-LM
Intel® Ethernet Controller I210-AS
Intel® Ethernet Connection I219-LM
Intel® Ethernet Connection I219-V
Intel® Ethernet Controller I210-CS

I'm running standard home internet, speeds generally won't go in excess of 1 gbps download and 10 mbps upload. I'm really over my head here.

*Also for those curious, had a lightening incident that took my modem, wifi router, and ethernet jack on my motherboard. Surprisingly, it's only the ethernet jack that got zapped, everything else is fine. Lesson learned.

Thanks in advanced.

If I could find them I wouldn't be posting on here. The one's that I can find are two and three hundred dollars and complete overkill for what I am using it for. So I am still looking for Windows 10 compatible suggestions for an ethernet card.

I always like Intel NICs, as far as W10 compat you are right to be concerned and I would head straight to a W10 specific forum and ask there.

Am no help 'cuz I never run the latest OS, don't feel the need going through all the hassle let them work out the bugs first.
