it says they aren't good for music but they're the best on headphones virtual surround. I wanna buy one for BF3

Some headphones are made for audiofiles and some for gaming.

The Recon3D was made for neither, unfortunatly. Everything I've heard from the people I trust when it comes to audio quality says what I already suspected: Inferior to both C-Medias chipsets, and even some loss in performance compared to the X-fi chipset.

At the end of the day, I find it impossible to recommend any chip in the Recon3D series, especially when you factor in how many quality ASUS/Auzentech/HT Omega cards are currently on the market.
