PCIE x1 slot covered by GPU

i have a gtx 960 and it covers my PCIE x1 slot. I just bought an internal wireless adapter on sale and really don't want to return it. any ideas?

It happens. Life can be tough in this aspect. Either get a new board or a slimmer GPU or a USB wireless adapter.

A riser won't fit unless the fan shroud is slimline (risers still take up 20mm on height)

Return the network card , there are some decent standard PCI cards available which you'll be able to use.
