[SOLVED] PCIe x16 3.0 specific risers?

Solution
I'm looking to use a riser to mount my GPU but I've found that some brands label their cables as PCIe x16 3.0 vs just PCIe x16 (for example this one by Thermaltake is 3.0 https://www.thermaltake.com.au/tt-premium-pci-e-3-0-extender-300mm.html) . I was wondering if there were any difference between the 3.0 cables and standard PCIe x16 cables? Thank you

3.0 is talking about the generation of the PCIe port. Your motherboard also has PCIe x8 gen 3.0 and PCIe x4 Gen 3.0 ports. x16 is just the amount of physical lanes to the CPU/chipset.

So essentially that site is saying it's meant for Gen 3 ports, and more specifically the PCIe port that is x16 (which is your top most PCIe port).
