I decided to build my own computer, since I don't know much about computers I decided to get an already made part list and adjust it a little bit. The original part list apparently has a problem, except I don't understand the problem since I am an idiot.

PCPARTPICKER says this "1 additional PCI-Express 8-pin power connector is needed."

What does this mean?

Thanks

p.s this my the link to my part list http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/7WPYvK

Well in my older PC, I had a 760 which is slightly weaker than the 280.

Basing off that, I ran GTA V @ 1080p, on Medium-High settings to get 60 FPS with RARE drops, although I'm not positive because GTA V is a CPU hungry game, and I had an i7-4790 which is a significantly better CPU than the 4690K when it comes to gaming, but all in all, you should get around the same...
It means that your Power Supply doesn't have enough Pins to run your Graphics Card (In your case, you need a Power Supply with a 6-pin, and 8-pin connector). Try finding another Power Supply with a PCI-Express 6-Pin and 8-Pin support.

It means that your power supply does not have another 6+2 pin pci connector to power your graphics card , the silverstone strider only has one 6+2 pin connector and the r9 280 requires one six pin and one eight pin.

Thanks to the both of you. quick question, will this build be able to run current games like fallout 4, GTA 5 etc?

Yes this build will be able to play newer games like fallout 4 at relatively high settings.

For Fallout 4, I ran on 900p, High Settings to get 60 FPS, with drops in very detailed areas of the game.

In short, yes you will be able to run current games just fine.
