Hi! I'm trying to hunt down some old DND books or other RPG books in PDF
format. A friend told me he found them, but he couldn't remeber where, and
he's lost his files. Can anyone help me out?

http://www.svgames.com/downloads.html

5$ a pice... The scans are OK, not good, nor bad; 14-22 mb for the books I
have bought.

GREAT place for old Out Of Print books, in these non-advanced days ;o)

-Lars

For your friend: Try E-mailing them(svgames) about the lorse, if the
bill-e-mail also is gorne, then the bank have the tranceaction registered,
if he can remember at least the year he bought it, they can confirm, and he
should be able to download them again.

Check Limewire or other file sharing apps. Some of the ancient stuff
your talking about can often be found there. New stuff too.

I believe Wizards of the Coast (or some proxy) had PDF versions availble
on their web site. I found Kaza a good source for the OoP volumes as well.

Why didn't you just send him to rpgnow or svgames where you can buy legal

Because the last time I checked, WotC was the site.

Why would anyone visit the WotC unless absolutely necessary?

To read the weekly Rules of the Game column which is proving
to be the best column ever published on the WOTC site for the
sheer fact of breaking down some of the more commonly
misunderstood sections of the game and explaining them in detail.

Let's not forget the other weekly updates as well, the info about
FR, characters, maps, adventures, etc, etc...

With the PDF versions and a modern printer, you can print 4 pages for
each side of the paper. If you use both front and back, you can
actually fit Men & Magic onto 5 sheets of paper.

The print is tiny but still readable.

For a nicer touch, you can put each sheet in 8 1/2" x 11" glossy
plastic paper protectors. Or even print each side on separate sheets
of paper to reduce bleed through and simulate a heavier paper stock.

Sorry, but I didn't find anything particuarly new or enlightening there,
although the part on converting D&D to metric was unusual.

On the contrary - posting binaries to a non-binary newsgroup would
make a lot of people quite annoyed, and possibly get a person or two
banned from their ISP for TOS violation.

Nah, it should be posted to the guys email address instead, so you blow their available
space and they stop posting with their inane requests.

Posting binaries to this group would be bad form,
but if you go to this group

alt.binaries.e-book.rpg

as I have posted before, you will find most of the PDF books
you are all looking for. From the original D&D to 3.5 and all the
stuff in the middle!!!! There are many other old RPGs in this
group as well, many of them I played in Jr. high & high school
and have been out of print for years.

Enjoy!

I can't seem to find the group mentioned? There is an
alt.binaries.e-book, but no rpg section.
