Hi everyone,

I was formating my pen drive (Kingston SE9, 64GB) using quick format in Windows to NTFS. Something went wrong during the format, because the drive is unusable now:

I am not able to format the drive again due to this error:

I checked the drive in disk manager and it shows only unallocated space with read only status:

So I tried to remove the write protection via Diskpart:

However, nothing actually changed. I also tried to perform low-level format, but it is not possible to finish it due to the stucked write protection.

What should I do to save my pen drive? I don't need to retrieve any data from it, but I want it back to the functional state.

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

Jakub

You need to repartition the disk first before you can format it. You should have this option in Disk Manager. Otherwise I suggest that you use Partition Magic (free download) which is a lot more powerful. Make sure that you repartition the pen drive and NOT your hard drive !!
