Pendrive requires format

We needed to get a software to this old Windows computer and It doesn't connect via ethernet and we couldn't connect normally, so we got a pendrive downloaded it onto it (computer asked for format and we did) so we could just pur it onto the computer. When we plugged it into the old computer and tried to open it, it's asking for format again

Format the drive in the old computer then put the things you need on it from the newer one.
