Pentium 4 retro gaming rig?

i was thinking turning my dell dimension 2400 with a socket 478 2.4gHz celeron into a classic gaming rig, i have an old GeForce 6200 and i was thinking about swapping the CPU to a Pentium 4 SL6PG 3.06gHz 1 core 2 threads would this be a good CPU

What are you using to run the games? GameEx is excellent but will tax your setup extremely hard. If you just use a mame32 loader it will likely be playable but not optimal.

I think you can make it work it will probably lag on some games though. I have a buddy that uses the GameEx front end and has around 6,000 games and he uses a quad core amd with 8gigs of ram and it still lags at times.

What are you using as an interface? A simple mame32 app or a front end like GameEx?
