pentium dual core e5300, 2.60ghz - any decent upgrades?

I've a Dell Inspirion 545S (slimline) - circa 2009 - which I assume is an LGA 775 socket - but I don't know which is the motherboard part.
I've 6mb ram and am running windows 10 'reasonably' for general MS Office and plenty of Firefox - no gaming, no graphics intense work. Is it worth my while to find a cpu upgrade?

e8400, e8500 or e8600 is the best options if the motherboard allow; you might need to update the BIOS for support prior to changing out the CPU. You will see an noticeable performance increase but whether or not it's worth the time and money is subjective.

It probably is not much of issue based on your usage, use your Windows Task Manager to monitor your CPU usage. But for a very small amount of money ($13.50) you could double your CPU's power by getting the E8400 from here

If you want to look at faster processors then we need to determine your mobo model, it will determine whether you can use a quad core CPU.

Once you have this info then provide it along with a budget, country of purchase and any local online vendors you wish to use.
