I want to upgrade my DDR3 4GB to 8GB of RAM, But Intel states that only DDR3-1333 RAM is the only RAM supported by this CPU.
What can I do? I currently have a 4 GB 1.65V DDR3-1600 Kingston RAM stick that I'd like to throw in.

Thanks.

Since you already have the extra ram, go ahead and try it.
Test with memtest86+.
You should do a couple of full passes with NO errors.

If no joy, sell/dump the ram and buy a supported 8gb kit.
go to a ram web site and access their selection app.
enter your motherboard and you will get a list of supported kits.
1.65v ram is really 1.5v 1333 ram that can be overclocked to run at 1600 speed.
It is possible that your change might work since ram installs at default speeds.

Ram is sold in kits for a reason.
A motherboard must manage all the ram using the same specs of voltage, cas and speed.
Ram from the same vendor and part number can be made up of differing manufacturing components over time.
Some motherboards can be very sensitive to this.
That is why ram vendors will NOT support ram that is not bought in one kit.

I see no problem in trying it.
But be prepared to buy a 2 x 4gb kit of supported ram as a replacement.

Even if intel only supports 1333 and you have 1600 the board will bACK it down to the lower speed when you install it also note mixing different rams in a system may have various results as well meaning it don't always work but I would say give it a try and see what happens you wont know till you do.

My mobo is Intel DB85FL.
