pentium vs core i3

Solution
The Pentium would be better to have since everyday use and Minecraft only uses 1 core on default, 3 GHz is more than enough so you won't notice any difference between those two CPU's, and the Pentium is cheaper, so you might as well save some money with a CPU that can handle your task.

If you're going with a Pentium,you might consider a G3258 combo.

Not sure if you can overclock on this specific board, but you can on some B85 boards with a 1.2V voltage limit. My G3258 hits 4.3GHz stable in torture tests on 1.14V vcore with the stock heatsink on an H81 board (GA-H81M-DS2V). Might help you get a little more performance out of Minecraft for a cheaper price than buying a G3220.

On doing some research, yes, you can overclock the G3258 on that board in the bundle. So that combo would save you serious money over buying the G3220 and B85 board separately while giving you a slightly better Pentium at stock speed and a world's better Pentium if you overclock.
