My fps in BF4 seems to drop over time and I have no Idea why this might be occuring.
Temps are fine, loads are high but stable. will include gpu log below.
I've seen no odd drops in cpu either. I start out glued to 60 fps, then it gradually goes down from there to just above 30 at its lowest.
Lowering videosettings seems to have very little impact (10fps max from ultra 2xmsaa to high preset).

two questions here: 1.) what in the f¨*% is going on and (might it be a system ram issue?)
2.) temps seem fine to me to attempt a gpu overclock, opinions appreciated.

thank you in advance,

specs:
fx8320 stock
saphire 7950 stock
8g ram at 1600

I was just reading online on a few sites that apparently AMD released a driver that has issues with BF4 and a handlful of other games. What i would try would be to roll back the drivers to an erlier version.
I doubt this would be server specific unless they have a modded lobby etc. (For sure try a different server though, who knows :))
Well, Ive monitored the ram now as well. just been in the test range a bit. no abnormalities.
my framerates where absolutely stable, only dropping to about 55 minimum with alot of particles on screen.
BF in game test says everything is fine as well. starting to think my system isnt the issue at all.
could it be a server thing? Ive been playing on the same server, same map for a few days now...

Yea, I did a memtest run and a prime95 run. everything checks out. so either server or software seems to be the issue.
Ill pick that as the answer anyway mate, thanks for the help 😉. pretty happy its not the hardware, as this is the first PC i've ever built I was a bit overly concerned it seems :).

any opinions on the overclocking are still appreciated anyway, should anyone be stumbling onto this thread, thanks!

Just to be sure to filter out any obvious issues, try rolling back the drivers on that gpu, Make sure everything else has current drivers & everything is updated etc.

If you're interested in overclocking.. there is a million threads on the 8320:

Give that a read (it's for Asus boards but gives you the general idea). I would recommend you grab an aftermarket cooler before you even start the overclock process as the heat will continue to rise.

oh thanks, but I was referring to the gpu tho! just wondering what people with more experience would say given the log I provided.
cpu has been to 4.2 already with no issues. 😉
first pc doesn't mean no research, friend!

Ah. Well, for the GPU your should be using MSI Afterburner to overclock. Just google your card and you should see tons of configurations for the card. It's a million times easier than a cpu overclock.
Use "Unigine Valley" to stress test.
