8 GB DDR3 1333 MHz Corsair Vengeance.
Asus Crosshair Formula IV Board.
Asus Strix R9 380 4GD5.
FPS 1100W PSU.
Seagate Barracuda 2x1TB 7200 RPM HDD.
Cooler Master HAF 932.
Need help with the gaming performance.
I am trying to play Crysis 3 with Advanced Graphics set to Medium and Resolution at 1440*900. The game still has some fps drops.
I have read that this card can support 1080p gaming without any issues at a decent 30 to 35fps.
I also have this issue when playing other intensive games.
I am not a full-time gamer, but usually during the weekends.
I have EPU engine installed which was provided by Asus.
When I set it to Auto, I am able to play games but with fps drops.
When I set it to performance, the CPU fan goes crazy, which I do not prefer.
When I set it to power saving mode, games as useless.
CPU Idle Temp is 35’c
Room Temp is 34’c
After 1 hour of gaming the CPU Temps is 56’c, is this normal.
Installed Watch Dogs and set the EPU engine on Auto, I felt like I was playing at 10 fps.
I cannot uninstall EPU engine, if I do the CPU cooler always runs at Max RPM unless changed in BIOS.
I really have no idea what can be done to improve the performance.
I was still using a stock AMD CPU cooler and games used to crash within 10 minutes, after using Hyper 212x, I can play Crysis 3 for 1 hour without any issue or crashes.
I have reinstalled Drivers for GPU and tried different version.
Just wanted to know do I have to increase the RAM to 16 GB and move to SSD for performance.
I am not planning to move to SSD for now as the prices in india are twice the price in US.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you.
