Question Performance while playing games

intel i5-4460 3.2Ghz
64-bit operating system
Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB
Seagate Barracuda 1TB
Seagate Barracuda 2TB
Corsair Vengeance LP DDR3 1600 C9 2x8GB

I play a wide range of games but i only recognise an issue in both COD:MW and Apex Legends. While playing these games i have a common isssue (happens every 10-30secs) where while im ingame i have extreme input lag between my keyboard and mouse to my game. e.g. im running and when i try stop im stuck moving in the direction but i can still move my mouse around but i cant aim in or fire.and then it fixes and it happens again after 10-30secs and repeats itself while im playing and sometimes i think it causes my game to crash. i have tried the lowest settings for the games possible but nothing changes.

i hope someone can help find my issue and supply a fix. Thankyou

Is this original CoD: MW, or the new 2019 version?

If you haven't done so, try checking to see if it only happens when playing mp.

If this is the case, it may be due to your ping spiking extremely high (like over 100ms).

It is the new 2019 version, however it doesnt just happen in mp and my ping and serverlatency never went over 30

What settings (including AA) and res are you using? The new MW is pretty demanding.

You'll also get best performance in MW with the new 440.97 driver optimized for it.

5 year old quad core CPU and HDDs?

COD:MW is on my newest HDD and its not even a year old however my cpu is around 5 years old yes but i replace the thermal paste on it every year.
