Greetings all.
I have an HP mini I think it's model is 1018
Got it in 2011 . 2 gb ram , Intel atom. Windows 7 ultimate, although I'm not sure about the OS. Any inexpensive tips on how to improve my netbooks performance

What do you want to do with your HP ?

Technically speaking your HP has reached its EOL, given that it still works, you can use it for light tasks, for example browsing light websites (will be very slow on sites with heavy content), Word editor, E-mail...

The tip is to use an app like CCleaner to remove unused apps, clean browsers's cached content... to make as much disk space as possible because with just 2GB of RAM, Windows will use the HDD extensively for files caching.

Do you have a budget for "inexpensive" ?
The N450 atom processor is very weak, there is little you can do about that.
If your pc has 1gb, the first upgrade would be to go to 2gb which is the max.
CPU-Z memory tab will tell you what you now have.

The other upgrade would be to change the HDD to a SSD. This will make a very big difference in everyday performance.
A 250gb samsung 870 EVO ssd will cost about $50.

Buy a usb to sata adapter cable like this:

Download and run the samsung ssd migration app:
The app will move your C drive to the ssd.
Open up your laptop and replace the HDD with the newly copied ssd.
Here is a video tutorial.

Spend $150 buy a used faster laptop, much better use of money than any drive update would get you, it will still be very slow. Those systems sold pretty well due to the prices but many people regretted buying them due to the slowness.
Lenovo T420 or T430 are my favorite used systems and are commonly available for under $200 even with a newer solid state drive.
