Question Periodical BSODs - - - "Memory_Management" & "Unexpected_Store_Exception" ?

Hi! This is my second post here now, so I'll jump straight into it:

I have this lovely PC here: https://postimg.cc/gallery/0zcwPBn

And it's been working fine since I bought it some months ago, except for an issue I had before with my display but we fixed that already.

Now, and this has been something that has happened before but is starting to happen more often since last week (I haven't changed anything regarding the software other than removing one 2GB RAM stick I had before, but I did downgrade from Windows 11 [installed bypassing the TPM and CPU requirements] to Windows 10), every certain amount of time, the pc will crash out of nowhere with the MEMORY_MANAGEMENT error code, sometimes, although not nearly as often, I'll get the UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION error instead.

This usually happens when I'm just using it normally, not even playing games just watching youtube and reading emails. It's noteworthy to mention that, before it started happening this frequently, I had a big crash when I was playing Terraria and was about to open OBS to record something but the PC froze really hard so I had to force-shut it down (with the power button).

I've already done a lot of things to try to find out what's causing this:

  • I've used Avast to scan for viruses (Full scan, 0 viruses) and also its startup scan (again, nothing).
  • Windows Memory Diagnostic (nothing),
  • SFC /scannow will sometimes find something to fix but the problem persists,
  • I used CrystalDisk and says the drive is 100% healthy,
  • Updated drivers (tho this doesn't seem to matter),
  • Changed BIOS settings from UEFI and Secure Boot to BIOS w/o Secure Boot (obviously)

and probably more stuff that I don't remember right now, but so far I've got 0 clue about what could be causing the crashes. I'm planning to buy a new memory kit and probably a new drive as well but I'd like to know first exactly what's the issue to not waste money. If you need more info I'd gladly share everything I can. Thanks!

what storage drives do you have?
Unexpected store exception - this relates to how windows tracks file locations in your system, and where a file actually is. there are two locations it can be, ram or page file. from memory this error mostly relates to page file. (its been a while since I answered a BSOD post)
Memory to windows isn't just ram, its also page file. Which lives on C drive.

So what make are your drives? Most makers have software you can use to check their drives. Crystaldisk just reads the SMART values, but doesn't as such check drive.

Can you follow option one on the following link - here - and then do this step below: Small memory dumps - Have Windows Create a Small Memory Dump (Minidump) on BSOD - that creates a file in c windows/minidump after the next BSOD

  1. Open Windows File Explore
  2. Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump
  3. Copy the mini-dump files out onto your Desktop
  4. Do not use Winzip, use the built in facility in Windows
  5. Select those files on your Desktop, right click them and choose 'Send to' - Compressed (zipped) folder
  6. Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive, DropBox . . . etc.)
  7. Then post a link here to the zip file, so we can take a look for you . . .

Follow up: I've still been experiencing the issue these days, I forgot to mention that, occasionally, after the BSOD, when trying to boot the PC will throw a "No Hard Drive devices found" error and won't let me boot for a little until I turn off the PC and wait (usually a minute or even less) before turning it on again.

Here are some more Minidump files that I've got in the latest crashes: https://mega.nz/file/lYcylKyD#mHyznZOLjWua9aQ82AhwHuYqyfaoOvxJ2qIvR95kcOE

i thought @ubuysa might have seen this post and jumped in

Comment: 2 or more types of RAM are installed.
I assume the pc came with 8gb ram?

They have a ssd toolbox on their website that might include tools to test drive - https://www.addlink.com.tw/supports

report - mostly for me

it appears the cause is the page file. Data in it doesn't match what was written.
Memory Manager detected corruption of a pagefile page while performing an in-page operation.
The data read from storage does not match the original data written.
This indicates the data was corrupted by the storage stack, or device hardware.

Page file is on C drive.
its possible its a physical problem with the ssd and software may not see any problems. I would think about replacing drive, get another one to use for windows and you could use the current one as storage.

If my C drive randomly disappeared after errors, I would replace it.

Hi, thanks for the reply again. Yes, the pc came with 8GB, at the start I did add an extra 2GB stick of RAM, but after a while I took it out since I didn't need that much memory and it was only slowing the overall RAM speed.

I tried their SSD toolbox but it doesn't show any info about my drive, I'll retry but it didn't show any info when I open the app.

Got it, then I'll buy a different ssd as soon as I can and I'll notify of any changes. Do you have any recommendations? At least brand-wise, since I only have about 50$ to spend on one.

Edit: Checking addlink's website, it mentions that the drive's status should appear in their ssd toolbox. Maybe they did something to the drive before selling it, or it came with a defect or two.

Also an extra thing I wanted to add, don't really know if it has to do with the same ssd issue, but sometimes my mouse will turn off, or will start malfunctioning (starts turning off and back on repeatedly very quickly or in 'pulses'). It's the only usb device I use that suffers from this issue, swapping it from one port to another sometimes fixes it, even though sometimes after trying every port with no results, plugging it in the same port it was originally on will work (and similar examples).

Update: I performed sfc /scannow and a couple other typical registry fixes and now it's been a couple of days without the random BSODs, the mouse hasn't been malfunctioning either. So I guess I just needed to fix the system files, I'll come back if the BSODs/other failures come back. Thanks for the help either way!
