Question Peripherals suddenly shut off when gaming ?

Currently I don’t play too many games but enough to learn this only happens with the game called Strinova. After around an hour of playing, my peripherals shut down and do not turn back on until the PC is fully rebooted. Unplugging and replugging does not work, waiting does not work, the pc and monitors are still on and functioning, everything still works and runs except the peripherals.

I have done some research on this topic and all I’ve solidly seen is to turn on the UBS bus hub power limiters off and that did not work. I am really confused as to what is happening and I would like some help on the issue.

I am currently trying to upgrade and running with:
Mobo: B650 Gaming Plus Wifi
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7700
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 1660 Ti
RAM: 32GB DDR5
PSU: Corsair RM1000e 1000w

Are you watching temperatures?

Look in Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer.

Either one or both tools may be capturing some error codes, warnings, or even informational events just before or at the time of the shutdowns.

My general thought being that, for some reason, Strinova, is more demanding on your PC and causes the build to overheat.

Or is doing something else or trying/tries to do something else that results in the shutdown.

I do run the AMD software on my second monitor and the cpu temps for sure didn’t rise past 60C even after the usb shut down/disconnect, might’ve not even risen past 45C, but it’s been a bit since then I don’t fully remember, I usually just turn off the pc and do other stuff when it happens. I don’t know how to check the other temps fully or for the error codes you mentioned so I’ll need some info on how to do that.

This is like the 8th time I’ve tried to solve this problem, another issue I’ve found I have no clue if it’s related but when I turn it off after the disconnect/shut down happens, then I power it back up too fast the cpu is VERY overheating, I can only barely open the AMD software to peek 100C+ before it keeps rising and the pc will shut off on it’s own. Usually I just let it sit for a day and it’ll be back to normal, again idk if it’s related but thought I’d put it out there.

Error codes?

Which specific peripherals shut off?

How old is the PSU? History of heavy gaming use?

What is your normal shutdown procedure?

= = = =

Power down, unplug, open the case.

Clean out dust and debris.

Verify by sight and feel that all connections, cards, RAM, jumpers, and case connections are fully and firmly in place. Include fan connections.

Use a bright flashlight to inspect for signs of damage: bare conductor showing, melted insulation, pinched or kinked wires, corrosion, browned or blackened areas, moisture, swollen components, loose or missing screws, cracks, etc..

Has the thermal paste ever been replaced?

Like I said, I don’t know how to access the error codes mentioned.

All peripherals that I have hooked up shut down and they are:
Headset: Senheiser GPS 600 (hooked up via aux and mic cables to motherboard
Mouse: Logitech G203 Lightsync (hooked up via USB 2.0 on motherboard)
Keyboard: Logitech Tenkeyless (also hooked up via 2.0 on motherboard)

The PSU is brand new, I bought it on 2/13 this year, and same with the motherboard. I haven’t reapplied any paste since then. I haven’t been a heavy gamer mostly because of my gpu bottleneck, but I usually get on every night and play a few hours of something then watch YouTube that’s all.

My usual shut down procedure is I close everything and shut it down via windows menu. When the peripherals crash I can only hold down the power button on the case and that shuts it off.

It is a fairly brand newly put together build and I went through everything and everything is in order. I found no evidence of any damage, corroding, shorting, or irregularities. The psu is plugged into the wall and everything else is plugged into one power strip in the same socket.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I don’t even have to be playing the game, it has shut off when I sit in the lobby queueing for another. The matches usually last around 30mins if they’re long and 20mins on the short end. I’ve noticed I make it through two whole games before it crashes, could be when I’m queueing or in the middle of the game.
