Hey guys, I’m have a somewhat new problem while gaming and sometimes just while using my pc for light work like browsing the web etc… Usually when I load up a game it loads fine for the most part, but I noticed a few things while loading games. In Doom the splash screens would have lag to them, and when I double click on the cs:go icon it would take a good 30-45 seconds to actually load the game. When actually gaming though everything would run fine at first, 60fps, but after a little bit of gaming I would get sudden and random fps drops to like 10-20fps. It would stay here for a few minutes and then go back to 60. This will repeat itself until I restart my PC. Which brings me to another problem. While experiencing these lag spikes, I would try and quit the game but my computer seems to freeze every time I do so. Forcing me to press the restart button on the front of my case.

PC Specs:
AMD FX-8350
XFX R9 380X BE
120gb ssd
Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 motherboard***
8gb Corsair Vengeance
750w PSU

***I just barely replaced this from my Asus Sabertooth 990fx r2.0 because I thought the problem was coming from my motherboard however with the asus motherboard my games were just freezing and not lagging. I did a Prime95 test with the asus mobo and workers failed instantly. I’m going to do another test with the new mobo when I get home.

I don’t believe this is caused by temps because I had a second screen running to check temps and when I was getting the lag spikes my cpu temps were hovering 60c. It would reach about 70c and I’d still be fine.

Unfortunately I’m not near my pc right now but I’ll try and answer and questions as best I can. Thanks!

try manually increasing the pagefile size to 24GB-24GB and host it on the SSD ... wait you only have a 120GB SSD .... how full is it?

you know with the convertion to usable youre looking at 114GB? something like that. windows is gonna be taking 30-40GB? the pagefile wants to be around 24GB windows loves to make it larger. so if you already use 60GB+ .... how much is your hibernate file taking? another 12-16GB?
Its not looking healthy

best check how full your SSD is, i know some people dont care how full a drive is, but remember some files get compressed and need to be uncompressed to read. no space = mega lag.

So what im saying is you maybe running out of drive space, check swapfile size. disable hibernmate.

Its a corsair 750w. No I didn't but I didn't at first, but then I reinstalled windows through the settings. Should I still get the drivers from the gigabyte website?

Yes GPU temps were fine. Can't remember exact numbers though I'll have to check again.

Try that too better to try it out

Downloaded and updated my bios but that didn't seem to improve performance at all.

I have about 20-35gb of free space if I'm remembering correctly.
