Since I built this PC about 2 months ago I have had repeated crashes almost every day. This occurs in one of two ways. Either the screen goes black and a audio pop is heard and then the PC restarts or everything freezes for 5-15 seconds and then the PC restarts. I also have had very annoying audio crackling of varying frequency. When I play games the audio crackling gets worse and the likelihood of a crash increases greatly. The PC crashes mainly when playing games like Fortnite but at times will crash while nothing intensive is going on.

I ran Windows Memory Checker and found no problems. I then ran Memtest86 but only test 6 and found nothing there either. I tried many other small fixes but nothing has worked. A few days ago I decided to try removing the ram sticks alternately. I removed the one in the DIMMB2 slot first and still had crashes. I then swapped the removed one with the one in DIMMA2 slot. The system seemed more stable for a few days though the audio crackling continued. So, I tried purchasing new RAM (the same model as I originally bought). I installed both new sticks today and tried playing Fortnite and the system crashed. I also had really bad audio crackling.

I have tried using DPC Latency checker and LatencyMon. DPC latency checker shows very large spikes (34000 to 90000 Microseconds) at the same time the audio crackling occurs.

At this point I'm not sure whether the two issues are related. It feels like the latency spikes increase prior to a crash but I have no way to know for sure as I can't predict the crashes.

On the subject of minidumps, there are none. Not one over dozens of crashes. Crashdumps are enabled and I have tried turning off automatic restart but still nothing.

I haven't seen any sign of overheating when I monitored temps in HWINFO64. No thermal throttling. Temperatures have never exceeded 90c as far as I can tell. The CPU idles at around 38C.

The only thing I have noticed that might be of interest is that the memory timings are set to 40-40-40-77 (acc to cpuz and HWINFO64) when my RAM says 36-36-36-76 on it. Could this be the cause of my issues? If not what could? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the welcome and the reply!

1.50 The latest non-beta version. I had crashes with the original BIOS too. I forgot to mention that I updated it.
