PG278Q AC adapter

My ac adapter has finally gone and popped and i don't fancy paying £58 for a new one through asus approved vendors, is my monitor still fine as well as the AC adapter popped so im wondering if it did any damage? im too scared to put my XG32VQ ac adapter in it just incase it makes that one go pop because i have no idea if it did damage to my monitor.

Im in the UK, anyone know any decently priced and well known stores i looked on amazon but they all look dodgy.

If it's the adapter only then the screen is likely okay.
