I have a Phenom II x4 810 CPU that I bought when it first came out. I think it was Feb 2009. I am wanting to upgrade the CPU and mobo finally. I have upgraded the RAM (PC3-10600/DDR3-1333) from 2GB to 4GB, then to 8GB last month. The GPU was a 9800GTx, to HD5770XXX, to a 2GB HD7870 IceQ.

I have recently gotten a MX100 SSD, prior to the RAM upgrade and I plan on staying with Win7x64 until I get forced into another operating system.

I have been looking at the FX series for Price : Performance. The 6300, 6350, 8320, 8350 to be exact. I know the 6300 in labs is about twice as powerful as my current CPU, while using the same TDP. The others are 125W.

How different would it be going from 95w TDP to 125w TDP and which CPU would be recommended. I want the best for the buck, but I also don't want to get something that has only a 3-5% increase over the others for $40 more.

Looks like the 6300 ranks twice as fast as my current, with the 83xx just going 2.4x more, but is it worth it? Will I notice any difference with any of these choices? How much so?

Specs:
AMD Phenom II x4 810 w/ ThermalTake SpinQ v1
ASUS M4A78TE
G.Skill 8GB DDR3-1333Mhz (2GBx4)
HIS IceQ HD7870 2Ghz
Crucial mx100 256GB boot (two other HDD)
PC Power and Cooling 750w PSU

Solution
the 6300 is a decent choice, but if you plan on getting a stronger gpu in the future, it might possibly create a little bit of a bottleneck. Overclocking it would definitely alleviate some of it. I feel like the 8320 would be a nice upgrade, it's just a lower clocked 8350. Pick between the 6300 and 8320 to be honest. The 6300 would support your graphics card just fine for now.
