The PC in issue is a Compaq Presario CQ5210Y
Motherboard: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01701270&tmp_track_link=ot_faqs/top_issues/en_us/c01701270/loc:2&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=4005902&x=0&y=0#N92

A friend of mine has a Phenom II x4 925 C3 stepping 95w processor in a pc
The bios supposedly support this Processor but keeps getting blue screens of death.
The computer boots up fine and plays around some fine but gets random blue screens.
The cooler is a coolermaster hyper 101.

I also have a phenom 925 on a similarly old motherboard. I used to get random blue screen errors once in a while, but after I updated the bios and all the motherboard drivers for windows 7 64 bit, the blue screens went away.

On the bottom left side of the compaq webpage you mentioned, there is a box saying "support for this product." Click on the first item mentioned "Software and driver downloads." Download and install ALL the stuff that they have there for your operating system. Good luck.

According to HP it should work. They just keep suggesting to updates bios when there are no bios updates. Supposedly the bios update that supported its old Athlon II x2 215 also supported the Phenom II x4 925 C3 stepping. any ideas beyond bios?
