Phenom II X4 955 SAFE OC settings/temp with stock HS/Fan

Hi,

I just built a new system with an AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Processor.

I have it overclocked with 19x(16 is stock) multiplier and 1.4volts to the CPU and it is running at 3800Mhz. It runs anywhere from (doing basically nothing)39-46-55(fairly heavy load) Degrees Celsius.

I tried the above settings in AMD OverDrive and windows worked fine, so I set the same settings in the BIOS.

If these are safe temperatures, or it seems like a safe tune I will leave it as is.
Any help/info on overclocking anything more would be great!
- PCI-E Bus
- Memory timings
- Any other settings.


Here are my system specs:
- Logisys Area 51 Black ATX Window Case CS51WBK (Sucks, I know!)
- 2x 120mm Antec fan (1 intake bottom front-Medium speed/1 exhaust top rear-High speed)
- Removed side window fan since it got loud and placed a tube from the hole to the processor fan so the processor sucks from outside the case. Can post picture if requested.
- Antec Earthwatts 500
- AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition
- Asus M4A785TD-V EVO
- Mushkin 4gb HP3-10666 2x2GB
- EVGA Geforce 9800 GT SuperClocked overclocked to 744/1799/1104 [Core/Shader/Memory] from 650/1625/950
- Samsung 2494HM @ 1920x1080px

I'm playing games(CS:S,COD:MW2,L4D2,Going to get Crysis soon, more similar) on my system, so I am pretty sure the graphics card is the bottle neck. But I have a 2 year extended warranty on it and the motherboard so I don't mind overclocking the hell out of both of them to increase performance in games.

Hi have the same processor at 3.8GHz too, if your temperature is above 70-80 degrees celsius you should be worried.

So less then that in 50-60 degrees Celsius range is okay?

OCing with that crappy stock HSF? lolz, good luck.

and agreed with saint19, if your seeing the temps approach 70C, your OC is going to damage your CPU with all that heat in the long run.

Yes, 50c or 60c is good with the stock cooler, if you want OC more, maybe you need a better cooler for your CPU.

Hi temperature after doing my first overclock from 3.2GHz to 3.8GHz

amd overdrive listed temp at 31.5c-32c idle on all 4 cores and 47.5c-48c on all core in its 1hour stability test/OCCT also read 31c-32c idle,47c-48c on full load

when Intelburn test was used full load temp was 48.5c-49c full load on both the above

You don't get a system reboot when you hit 59°C? The CPU's highest safe temp is 62°C, so as long as you stay in the 50's you're good.
