Phenom support for AM2 mobos - I think not!

I contacted Foxconn Tech Support with regards to Phenom support / BIOS / updates for the Foxconn C51XEM2AA 590 SLI AM2 mobo.

The first response back was: "No it does not support it"
Well DUH. that is what I was asking them: "When will a new BIOS be coming out to support the Phenom".
The second response was : "There is NOT going to be a BIOS to support phenom processor"

To say that I am upset really does not cover it.
The ONLY reason I decided to go AM2/AMD instead of 775/Intel was for low cost and upgradability.
So this means that the CPU/mobo combo I have now was obsolete the day I built it.
Gee - thanks a lot Foxconn and AMD, way to build brand loyalty.

Does anyone have any new info on this situation?
Has this improved since the Tom's article on 12/26 that found only 1 or 2 AM2 mobos that support the phenom?

There MANY thousands of AM2 mobo owners that need to know what is going on and when.

Some of us were even told to contact AMD or nVidia directly after the mobo makers replied:
"Don't ask us, our hands are tied" just great..

please help

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately there is no way to force and manufacturer to release a BIOS update to support a new line of chips. I felt much the same frustration with my old Abit Fatal1ty AN9-32x motherboard. It cost over $200 and the bastards from Abit said the same thing to me. I ended up buying a Gigabyte GA-MA790X-DS4. Gigabyte and Asus seem to be the best companies as far as releasing BIOS updates at the moment. Live and learn I guess...

I have this board. It OC's like a mad man. I have a 4200 x2 and I can take it past 3,000. It is solid. I know it can handle phenoms with bios F5. I have some Asus boards also. They have a similar chipset. They have bios releases that enable support for phenoms. I think you got hosed by Foxconn. Asus and Gigabyte have continued support. You should have gotten a board from a top tier manufacturer. Just my humble opinion.

abit have issued BIOS for a couple of AM2 mobos to support AM2+ CPUs so I wouldn't rule out a few more.
DFI I heard was going to try & bring 1 out for their 590 SLI & if that went well then they would look at trying for more.
