I am thinking of buying a Phillips 107P4 (I guess it is equal to the 107P but in Asia they add a 4 for some reason) Diamondtron 17" monitor. I would like to know if the trinitron lines on it are intolerable. I have heard that it is not that bad for this monitor, and they are selling it for cheap now basically it is the only monitor I can afford that can go up to that high a resolution at an acceptable refresh rate.

But if it is really not tolerable I won't buy it and will hold off till later.

Also may consider P75f+ Viewsonic which is also appeture grille. Are the lines any more tolerable for this one?

If not maybe I get a P70f which supposedly same price but lower rez but i may not use more than 1600x1200 anyway...

Also is the P90f viewsonic trinitron diamondtron? The viewsonic site dont mention the technology.

in general the lines aren't that bad

Though, it's always a good idea to check out the monitor in person before u buy it though unless you know what you're getting or u trust the reviews.

Test/try the monitor out in the store first.

Phone around, there is usually a store that has a working monitor on display.

I'll test it out but still interested in what you guys who have one thinks. Because in stores you can only try the monitor for a short time and sometimes things start annoying you / become noticable after a while.

ok i got the 109P (109P4) the 4 does not mean anything i don't think.

the lines across the screen are visable but they do not bother me now that i know what they are for!!!

my 109p works really well and have had no problems with it so far (except the convergence seems to be a bit funny sometimes)

they are cheap and are also good quality.

they have a 3 year onsite warentee also!!!

i think mine was worth it
