'Not looking to spend a lot of money on 2 monitors'

It's priced over $400, which is almost double what you can get a pair of IPS monitors for, that are larger....

I get they're higher quality, but I certainly wouldn't view this as a way to save money.

Where in the world do you shop that you can get a pair (2) IPS displays that are over 32inch that cost ONLY $200?

What in the world are you smoking? This setup is the same size as a 32" monitor WHEN COMBINED, not each.

You can get a pair of higher resolution, 1080p 22" LG IPS monitors for $240 combined.

This is just an absurd product, in every way.

I'm not overly impressed by the specs, but I do like the idea behind it. All in all though it looks like something I built not too long ago (twin 1440x900's on a handmade stand) and use to manage my mini server rack in my basement.

Paid $45.00 for one of the monitors, paid nothing for the second (psu repair on a broken unit), and a piece of wood and about 30 minutes of my time. No, it doesn't look quite as nice, and doesn't have the USB ports, but the resolution is close to what they're offering at 1/10th the price and THAT'S where the problem lies.

1080p (1440 preferred) panels at least, minimal bezels, and you might be talking something, but until then, I'll pass.

you would actually go do an LG 1080p ips display? WOW!!!! That is your comparison. Going to a company where there old slogan used to be "Lucky it works"

And I am the one smoking something.

And you obviously have no idea on how to read. The original poster said that he can get 2 ips monitors that are both over 32 inches a piece for not more than a total of 200 for both. That puts each monitor at $100.

Take a breath.

This "world first" is a pair of 19" 1280x1024 displays sold as one unit with a custom monitor stand.

You can get 22" 1080p displays for ~$150 (x2 for $300) and that leaves $200 under the MSRP to put toward an adjustable multi-monitor stand.

I don't understand what is wrong with people these days. how is 22 inches bigger than 32 inches? Did you even read the whole comment or did you trail off at about 60% and decided to respond?

Show me an ISP monitor that is over 32" that is $100 and we are not talking about cheap crap Korean monitors.

The article is not about a 32" monitor. It is a pair of 19" monitors that put together are equivalent to 32" diagonal.

If you take Newegg's monitor list, filter it to only include IPS/MVA monitors with VESA mounting, 20-24" size and 1080p resolution, you get this list to pick from:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&IsNodeId=1&N=100007617%20600557193%20600107132%20600439463%20600311118%20600287844%20600287843%204017%20600415693

25 models and 47 offers under $200 when I checked. A pair of 21.5" displays side by side would give you a combined 39" diagonal and 60% higher total pixel count for less than $400 total.

I do not really understand why somebody would want a double-widescreen-setup? That wouldnt make any sense i guess. Nevertheless 19 inches per screen are quite small, yes. It would have been great if it had two 22" screens with a resolution of 1600x1200 each. THAT would have beenl "professional" 😀

I'm not sure why I'm quoted as saying that, but what you said was exactly my original point.

I'm not sure where you got your reading comprehension skills...

I, for one, was the original poster. If you actually read what my comment said, you would see that I said you can get a pair of 22" monitors for $240 combined, and when combined, you get more screen real estate, higher pixel density and resolution, and for a lower price.

The monitor(s) in this article is a pair of 19" low resolution monitors combined to make a 32" display for $400.

I then stated you could get a pair of larger, higher resolution displays, to make a single larger, higher resolution display, for almost half that price.

And obviously LG was an example, you can get something from Acer, ViewSonic, HP, AOC, Dell and ASUS for under $150 each, while being cheaper, larger, higher resolution, and higher pixel density.

Sorry about that.

It is a feature-bug on the forum: whenever you "reply to" but do not post, the forum remembers which messages you quoted from and prepends them to the next "reply to" you start writing. If you edit the quote blocks to only keep the bit of text you want to reply to and do not notice the stray quotes, you end up cutting the wrong quote tags like I did. In case you have not noticed, the "reply to" quote tags only contain a bunch of numerical IDs, which makes misquotes that much less obvious at the time of writing.
