After many years of non-use, I am attempting to connect a Toucam on multiple XP computers. The results are the same on all computers. Device Manager classes the video as UNKNOWN and generic audio drivers are installed. Oddly, USBDeview reveals that the unknown device's ID shows it to be a Logitech webcam. I may have installed a Logitech webcam at some point, but it is no longer there. I have confirmed no software and find no entries in the registry. One computer actually still retained an entry from the original camera. The serial number for the original varies from the current listed version on 2 digits. The Toucam comes with a software intaller program and does not offer driver files. Since XP presents an invalid ID, it will not proceed. i have deleted and reinstalled the cameras drivers/SW numerous times. As this failure has occurred on 3 dif XP machines, I have not deleted all USB drivers. BIOS and XP are up to date. Any direction would be appreciated.
