Question Phone like vibration noise coming from PSU

Was sitting at my PC watching a youtube video when i kept feeling vibrations going through my desk. At the time i didnt know it was my pc but only started to notice 20 mins later when i took my headphones off.

The vibration noise happens randomly for like a second similar to a phone viration but a bit louder. The PSU is a corsair cm500 (dont exactly know the full details as i dont have the box). The PSU is about 3 - 4 years old and was planning to upgrade to a 700W PSU at the end of august as im getting a new case and GPU.

When i turned off my PC the vibrations stopped but i have turned the PSU switch off just in case. Do any of you know if this can damage my PC parts or if the sound will go or should i just buy a new PSU now just to be safe?

It's likely an unbalanced fan, or a loose fan bearing--or both. There really isn't anything else in the PSU that would cause that kind of vibration.

Outside of the fan seizing-up, there shouldn't be much to worry about.
