Phone wifi to PC?

I recently built an expensive gaming pc and the wirless adaptor can't find any networks. Is there a way I can use wifi on my PC through a USB cable from my phone while I wait to get a new adaptor?

It's called tethering.
Does your phone support that? Does your WiFi plan? Do you have sufficient data limits in your phone plan?

More importantly, why doesn't the current WiFi adapter on your PC work?

(Don't seem to be abe to reply on mobile so if you see this...) my phone appears to support tethering but it runs off data and I would prefer to use wifi. It also didn't appear on the PC (don't know if I did it right.) I have absolutely no idea why the current adaptor doesn't work. I installed the driver and utility but it can't find any of the networks.

Sorry for going back to basics, but have you connected the antenna to your wifi adapter correctly? They often come with one...

The adapter doesn't have an antenna it's a small usb
