Long story short I bunch of photos of mine were deleted off my Samsung Galaxy S9. I didn't have the trash setting on so I ran a disk level undelete and recovered them but now they're all in 320x240. Is this because of the program (diskdigger) and if so, is there a better one. Or is this just a space saving function to butcher the resolution when you delete files? Anything to help recover my trip photos as they were before would be greatly appreciated

If you ever accidentally delete your photos, make sure not to write or download anything on the phone as it will tremendously reduce the chances of recovery. So, just don't use the phone. Also, do make backups, specially when you are going to update your phone!

What you can do is:

make sure phone is rooted
buy or download a tool called disk digger pro
it's the most trusted android recovery app
you can get it for free from TPB, if you want
run a full scan, not basic
and choose recovery location to micro sd card if possible
(i'm guessing data is lost from the phone memory)

This is the easy way to do it. I tried a lot of apps but most of them turned out to be a failure, but i had filled up almost half of my phone storage by then, so i can't tell how well they work. Unfortunately i ended up losing most, if not all of my data.
