Asus P7P55D-E PRO MBoard--4GB
Gigabyte GTX 460 v2 1GB--
Installer will not load nvidia latest or earlier Geforce 306.97 (Windows 7 64 bit)--
Then; after uninstalling 2yr old driver (which was working fine incl PhysX , Cuda, openGL etc and showing on GPU-Z) ;;

Then on reboot to fully remove all-----windows opens and 'it' ? asks would it like the latest Driver installed. I said yes.

'it' downloads 237MB of unidentified source driver, installs it,,, and says after reboot everything will be fine. ;)

----and it was/is--well i'll be darned. 'it' installed the driver-i could not .

But----no PhysX . :na:

What is the problem not being able to install these drivers? :(

MY H/W Config Now has Gigabyte GTX460 as above (far Quieter) and no second Gfx card 9800GTX (there was no benefit from that)

It is showing a grey PhysX arrow going into Dig socket #1 ; the same socket as the monitor plug and set on Auto.I have tried all the combinations in there.
Actually; now i am not sure whether PhysX is loaded--- or it is just a reporting thing on GPU-Z.
But on a loadup;clean or otherwise before 'the phantom loaded "everything?" It would Xreject the driver package completely.
I will go and try an old version of GPU-z and see if it reports PhysX....and report back here. Thanks

This actually came up a few days ago with someone who had a 430, not sure if its affecting 4xx cards, I have 570's and all is good on my end with latest drivers and they are fairly similar in terms of architecture..

Had a quick search and found this on the steam forums:

http://steamcommunity.com/app/49520/discussions/0/882960719623208232/#p2

Not sure if they are related but seems similar, if you trawl through there are a couple of posts suggesting that rolling back to 301.42 seemed to solve the problem....I would try that and see if anything changes

(Just now....I did not go to earlier GPU-Z than 065...to see if they reported or not. perhaps I should have.)

I firstly installed the file above that you recommended from guru 3d which I understand to be the latest Physx ver.
Extracted;put extracted folder in C Nvdia where others had put themselves and setup from there.

It ran---but all it said was - uninstalled. Like hinting PhysX was installed and I just uninstalled it.
So anyway completed by rebooting and nVidia big settings box.....no changes there-showed PhysicsX all the same.
Funny-I thought it would be uninstalled.
Think the new PhysicsX must have installed--Now showing ticked in GPU-Z v 065.
What do you think has happened here.

Note:Guru standalone ver does not support 2005 to 2007 games it says;but that does not bother me.

Thanks for that;did not try yet-but that could solve it-yes.I will try to make it with the latest version first if I can.

There is something about the new driver package/s that is not allowing loading of the options IMOpinion
Also perhaps the program flag used by GPU-Z has changed and therefore not showing.

Yea keeping the original drivers is definitely the best solution, after some searching you are definitely not alone on this matter, not like Nvidia to drop the ball like this... in recent times anyway...AMD fanboys will have a field day especially as its PhysX related

You should mark this as solved, could be important for some....

Just to clarify, when you installed the drivers did you clean install or update?

Only asking as it mainly seemed to occur with people that chose the Nvidia clean install option.

Roll back to an older physx version, the latest one is shot and won't allow the use of a dedicated physx card even when the main card is nvidia so I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't work very well for single cards.

I know 9.11.1107 is working for both single and muti card solutions but you have to manually uninstall the existing physx driver but leave the graphics drivers.

Clean or Not previously did not work ...The 306.97 that appeared and installed itself did not show or give me options--But did install, minus PhysX.

Previous to that nothing would install incl zero options. The Message said:- 'Publisher cannot be verified'
and added:- 'Code will be treated as unsigned'
Maybe remove internet security to download unsigned drivers ; then put the security back after it loads-if it loads.Never had to do that before. No don't like that at all.
Have Nvidia left some id off the package?

Just been to :-Computer/System Properties /Device Mgr/Display Adapt/NvidiaGeforce/Properties/Driver/Driver details/ to see,

Provider- unknown
File version- unknown
Copyright- unknown

Ah ha this could be why it rejects....it is reading these fields?

However in the PhysX only download from the guru it gave no boxes or options-it just did its job.Thank you MouseMonkey.....
Many Thanks for your result.

My situation is solved.(for now) but it still does not answer why the driver full package/options will not load. Unless the aforementioned circumvents 'unsigned Drivers'; which I have not tried.

Thanks for your time Paddys09

Loaded the GeForce 310.33 Beta from guru3d - your link ;straight over the top of current driver on Express Install.
Rebooted and everything worked. GPU-Z showed all ticks
This Driver ver. looks good.
Many thanks
