Interesting thing about the SM7B, they raised its price up from $399 to $499 (everywhere, not just amazon) when it went on sale. for $369. Also, most of Shure's $100 microphones were raised to $130 at the same time they were marked down to $89. Call me a cynic, but I think the sale is to distract from a pretty massive stealth price hike across most of their product line.
But most their microphones are pretty timeless and hold their value. So if you've been on the fence, this is probably your last real chance to buy at anywhere close these prices.
Although, realistically, if your employer isn't paying for it, then you don't actually need a $400+ Dynamic microphone.
