Is a PIV 2.4 GHZ 533FSB Celeron much faster than a PIII 1GHZ 133FSB CPU?

Thanks,

Seriously? I knew the Celerons were bad, but didn't think they were that bad.

Sometimes 2.6 Ghz Celerons (coupled with i865 & DDR400) perform well behind 1.4 GHz AXP 1600+, so it may not be surprising if a 2.4 GHz Celeron performs on par with P3 1 GHz, especially when paired with mainstream Celeron companions (single channel DDR266 or 333).

I'd expect it to be around 20% better under a good configuration.

Did they make a celeronD @ 2.4? If so, you can expect it to perform about on par with an xp2400 (almost). It would be conciderably faster than a P3 @ 1ghz.
I am under the impression that prescott based celerons start at 2.6ghz.

Oh, damn, he said 533 bus, haven't seen any 2.4 Celeron D's, but such an animal should have around 70% better performance than a PIII 1000EB.

I didn't notice 533 FSB, Prescott based Celerons are surely much better than P3 1 GHz

I think XP 2400+ narrowly beats 2.6 GHz Celeron D
