Question Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire - stuttering in 2025

I wanted to return to this great game, but the stuttering that appears every few seconds prevents me from playing normally. I found a lot of posts on the Internet that this game works poorly and many people experience stuttering on powerful computers. I've probably tried every possible tip on how to repair this game, but nothing helps. I tried the standard and obsidian editions and each works equally badly. The computer meets the requirements. It is 100% not a hardware fault. The game runs poorly regardless of the graphics settings and screen resolution. When I played this game after its release in 2018 on a much weaker PC, I don't remember such problems because I finished the game. Has anyone found a way to get rid of the annoying stuttering in this game? spec: Ryzen 5600 RTX, 4070 ,Gigabyte B450 Gaming X,32 ddr4 3600mhz, Kioxia Extceria M2 1tb, Fortis 3, PSU: SPC 550w Supremo M2. Windows 10 Home, Acer 27"1440p

Regarding PSU: PSU: SPC 550w Supremo M2

How old? Original to build, new, used, refurbished?

History of heavy gaming use - correct?

PSU may be at or nearing its' designed in EOL (End of Life) and starting to falter and fail.

Or simply just not able to keep up with peaks in power demands in any case.

Wondering about the wattage necessary to support the overall build.

Several PSU calculators are listed near the end of the review.

Use two or three of the calculators to determine the recommended PSU wattage for your build. If any given component provides a range of wattages - use the high end value.

Do a manual total yourself.

No harm in adding a 10-20% more wattage just for a bit more margin. (I tend to err on the side of too much wattage.)

Ensure that the PSU cand proved the necessary/required wattage for your build.

A good quality PSU is a must. Spend more if necessary.

I bought a new power supply about 3 years ago. But the power supply or any other computer component is definitely not a problem here. The computer can easily play games such as Alan Wake 2, Cyberpunk, with a maximum power consumption of 350W (I measured with a wattmeter). The problem only occurs in Pillars of Eternity 2 Deadfire and there are plenty of posts online about other players having similar problems with this game on much more powerful computers. A lot of people also write that they have such a problem in Unity games and they haven't found a solution yet.It looks like every 20-15 seconds there is a small drop in fps, e.g. from 120 to 110, or with fps lock, e.g. from 60 to 55, and then a second stutter occurs. Even on the day of release, the game had low hardware requirements, so the problem is on the game/engine side.

Although I agree you should never ever cheap out on a psu, I also agree that the psu has nothing to do with your current problem. I mean, come on?!?! I swear if a psu was bad enough to cause stuttering in a 10-year-old game you would have way more issues than that. Did anyone ever try to cap the frame rate? Like at 60 fps? If the game doesn't have this option you can do it through the Nvidia control panel.

I even tried lock on 30fps. No improvement:/.
