I don't know if I'm right or not but India is one of the leading countries in downloading pirated files from torrentz(especially GAMES)....so r not the game developers aware of it??r not they selling their originals less???or they don't have anything to stop piracy through torrentz??

Solution
They do set lower prices in places like India and Russia, where piracy is rampant for economic reasons. But at the end of the day, if people want to pirate, they will.

+1. They just don't value other people works.

I think that's a little unfair, they have bigger issues to deal with and a very finite police resource. I imagine richer countries have far greater budgets for policing this and still don't do a particularly good job, just look at the UK

If the people like to steal, you can only do so much to stop them. Just need to educate them piracy is the same as stealing.

I agree. It's shocking how many professional people who would never steal from a shop think it's ok to pirate media and software. The wife bought an EE Android tablet recently and the sales guy in the EE store was naming Apps to pirate films and TV programs and using them as a selling point for Android. This is in the UK in a flagship store

It's a low priority everywhere. It's mostly something the IP owner has to deal with, even in the US and Europe etc.

Everyday piracy is never treated as a crime. You'll only ever get prosecuted if you're involved in large-scale piracy.

Agree, there have been a few odd cases about 5-10 years ago in the UK which I guess they were trying to make an example of your average Joe but that seems to stopped
