Question Planning on buying a gaming pc is this pc any good?

It takes me to:

Vibox V-6 Gaming PC - 24" Monitor Bundle - AMD Ryzen 5 4500 Processor - Nvidia RTX 3050 8GB Graphics Card - 16GB RAM - 480GB SSD - Windows 11 - WiFi

Thats it, i think it may be unavailable where you are but for me it says its in stock for £754.95

On the surface, it is a mediocre deal at best, but I am also basing that opinion on the US market, and the ability to build.

I would look into this a bit further and see what information you can find out about the motherboard. For instance, is it some one off Chinese thing that you won't find support for, or made by one of the 'standard' manufacturers, and if so, are BIOS updates available for the 5xxx series of Ryzen CPU? Also take a look at and consider the power delivery on the motherboard VRM. If it is really anemic that alone could limit your (CPU) upgrade choices.

Beyond that, if you need the whole setup, AND if this is on standardized parts it would be worth consideration.

You have a difficult decision to make.

If you know nothing about specifying or building your own gaming system like the "experts" here, you're stuck with buying a prebuilt system and relying on the seller to provide value for money.

Unfortunately, as punkncat says, the Amazon system is unlikely to give you the best build, compared to a system where you can specify each component.

Far more important though is the Vibox system will be very difficult to upgrade, without throwing everything out apart from the case.

The heart of the computer is the motherboard. Low price systems frequently use a non standard motherboard, preventing easy ugrades in a year or two's time.

The power supply is another critical component. Again, low price providers often install poor quality PSUs which cannot cope if you ever decide to fit a more powerful graphics card or processor.

Instead of a generic Amazon system, check out some of the gaming systems providers in the UK.

For only a few pounds more at £799, you could buy this PC with a more modern RTX 4060 GPU, instead of the anaemic RTX 3050.

Do a little research and think carefully before buying from Amazon, Currys or Argos.

I wouldn't trust it.
