Play Modern Warfare 2 MP For Free This Weekend

I wouldn't play this game if it was free. Not out of spite (which I have for Activision), but because without dedicated servers, it's not worth my time. Being able to admin a server to keep cheaters @ bay, to allow legit players the opportunity to play in peace is paramount. That & map tools to be able to make a shit ton of free maps, like MW1 has (over 500).

Sounds like you are a bit butt-hurt.

Get lit-up much? Blame people that know the maps... its not like almost every fps gives you a 40% advantage when you know the maps inside and out...
 
After you load it and play it and when the weekend is done, infinity will suddenly charge you for playing it over the weekend.
 
This is exactly how much money I wanted to pay for this console port over. Gonna play it for a day and delete it afterwards.

Still holding a 60$ tag.. talk about a freaking rippoff

Because PC gamers care about dedicated servers, if there is no dedicated servers, who is going to police hackers/cheaters? How about lag, you should be concerned about that too. How about Infinity Ward that back-stabbed PC gamers for no good reason at all and by charging $60 for less features? Giving this game a chance is not going to help.
 
I won't bother with why I got frustrated with MW (and quit playing it) since most have heard or experienced it before anyhow. So when MW2 came out I was interested UNTIL I started reading why ppl hated it even more. Never bought it, never will. IMO I'd say the valve promo this weekend is a confirmation of the rumors that sales are weak and ppl don't like MW2 for many reasons. If they would have just stuck with the formula they had with MW BUT fixed the many aggravations ppl had with it they could have had a winner with MW2. Instead they are ending up doing free weekend promo's just to get rid of inventory and recover investment losses. ...and that's my opinion...

Obviously this is just a marketing gig, people try it, they like it, they buy it. And it makes IW look pretty "generous" at the same time.
 
this game rock's it should be #1 for now untill modern warfare 3 come's out i can tell there's going to be a three mayby there's going to be #4
