Play sound though monitor

Hello,

I recently bought a HP Pavillion 27xw monitor. I intended to use it to play PS3 and PS4 through it. However, the monitor does not have built in speakers. It only as 2 HDMI ports, as well as 1 VGA port. There is no headphone jack. How can I get game sound from the monitor?

HDMI has sound and video, that's the only way for you to have sound. You would need a headphone jack on your PS3/4 or something, I don't know if it has one.
VGA has only video.

If the monitor doesn't have built in speaker then you can't get sound from the monitor. VGA does not carry sound. HDMI does however.
