Play station 2 emulator

So as the title says my question is about play station 2 Emulators. I've tried to follow YouTube videos and such to no avail. Few questions that I'm hoping people can help me with,
1- I'm trying to use PCSX2, are there other Emulators out there if so are they better?
2- The two websites I use for Roms are <removed by mod>, are these good or should I be downloading from better websites?
3- are there any specific settings within the emulator that need to be left alone or settings that need to be tweaked. I had downloaded TimeSplinters 2 ages ago and the game didn't work well and when it did it was fast forwarded.
4- Anything else I should know that you think may help?

The emulator itself is not but the roms being downloaded are.

PCSX2 has the capability of playing ps2 games directly from the disc. I would suggest supporting your local game store and purchasing any ps2 games through them.

I appreciate your willingness to deny help to someone who may be committing an illegal act however no crime is being committed especially since i own a PlayStation and the game i am wanting to emulate.

I did not know that PCSX2 was capable of playing the discs, this makes things alot easier!!
