I was playing For Honor, had been playing for about an hour when my screen went blue - no signal. Almost exactly the same time (though marginally after) the PC powered off. Then back on, then off. It kept doing this till I powered it off myself, holding the power button was enough. I tried restarting but nothing is really happening.

I didn't build it, my dad did. It was an old rig about 6 years old that completely died (many faulty components). So I bought a number of new parts and he put it together for me. It's been at least a year, maybe two. I've had issues in the past but nothing this drastic.

When I power it up, the only things that seem to get power are the fans, CD drive and the graphics card, though the fan on the graphics card starts going it then stops after about a second. Then maybe 5 seconds later it starts up again, but it doesn't sound right.
If I leave it, the fans keep going and the graphics card's fan keeps trying to start, then failing. Nothing else happens.

I don't have a system speaker, but it normally beeps once when it starts up anyway, it isn't doing that.
The hard drive is quiet.
Motherboard is lit up, error code 00.
I've tried taking out the ram sticks, seeing if one faulty but it did the same thing.
I've been through the checklist of stuff to check for start ups, but I didn't do anything about a first boot up, because I know everything is wired correctly, or I never would have started playing.
I assumed it had overheated, even though it has 4 fans and an external fan to blow the air away from it, it didn't even get that hot either. It has done this before ages ago, but when I restarted it, it just turned back on and was back to normal.
The only other problem is that my knowledge on this topic is not 100%. I know what all the parts do etc. But having never built one I don't know what's supposed to connect to what for example, though I have an idea.

I have replaced parts before and have fixed issues internally before, just nothing like this, it's like the whole thing is dead.

Motherboard - Maximus VII Ranger
Graphics card - GTX 970 (over clocked)
Processor - i5 4590k I think.
Ram - 8gigs in 2x hyper X genesis sticks. I didn't buy these so I'm reading off the side, these are old but both work fine.
1x 1Tb HDD, 1x 250GB SSD.
Windows 10, on the SSD of course.
I don't think I missed anything.

Well, luckily my brother tried to fix it and he took out the CPU. Found one of the pins was bent and tried to straighten it. He snapped it off and now we can't find it.
I'm convinced the pin was fine, because I can't see how it bent on its own while I was using it.

Either way, looks like I need a new PSU and Motherboard. Great.
