Is there any studies done on measuring correlation between playing performance and resolution or high/medium/low video setting at constant FPS? It is always assumed that low resolution/game quality guarantee better performance due to higher fps but I'm going to buy a graphic card like RX 5600 XT thats designed to max out fps on 1080p/low settings and wondering if its worth it to rather get something like 2080 Ti to see those fps on Ultra quality/greater resolution. I don't care much for visuals but looking to max out performance as I used to be a professional gamer and am looking to get back to it. Thanks

Sometimes the 2080Ti is required for highest res/detail/refresh rates...; you'd have to review the assorted cards at your chosen games at your desired res to see what frame rates are possible....(to see if the 2080Ti is really needed over the 2070 Super or 5700XT, etc..)

But that 2080Ti asking price is simply outrageous, ....to me anyway.
