I would like to set up a logon script for a PC running XP which logons to a
domain server.

Where should I put the logon script?

TIA

Group Policy (gpedit.msc).

Local Computer Policy\Computer Configuration\Windows
Settings\Scripts\(startup/Shutdown)

C:\WINDOWS\System32\GroupPolicy\Machine\Scripts\Startup

To assign computer startup scripts
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/gptext_assigncomputerstartupscripts.mspx
