Please Help CPU Cooling

i7 6700K
So, it just seem like im having issues keeping my CPU cool, with running basic programs its fine but with any kind of game the CPU gets in the 70c

this is with a burn test running, i have a H100i V2 the pump is on performance and the fans are bound to CPU package with a custom curve at 50c i have it set at 50%, 65c-65% etc at 80c its at 100%

but this is with a bois one click overclock using the tower cooler setting
witch means i set nothing myself, if anyone has anything that could be helpful or if im just worng and 70c is fine then by all means tell me to shut up

Looks like you hit 100C. Possibly high voltage. You should find the lowest vcore voltage you can run stable.

thats only using 1.321v during my reading around people have went higher with lower temps

CPU voltage isnt to high, I am wondering if your cooler is not properly mounted or if there is an issue with your pump. Intel burn in test is really hard on the system though.

Are you using the pad that came with the cooler? I had similar problems with my Corsair unit until I replaced the pad with Arctic Silver.

different thermal paste, its pumping fine, and i made sure the mounting was right, its like right now with using 30% of the CPU its sitting at 65c i just dont get it

35% at 65C isn't necessarily bad. The CPU will get warm when any load is applied. What matters is that it levels off when at 100% load.

I agree that your one-click overclock is the culprit. Probably LLC or adaptable voltage is going way too high. Fire up CPU-Z and monitor the actual voltage sent to the CPU under load.

I don't trust VID typically. Core voltage is what you want to know. VID is the voltage request, what the motherboard delivers can be a different number.

(For instance, my VID regularly tops 1.45 though I have forced the system to stop at 1.39v.

Either way, 70C is perfectly acceptable with a liquid cooler. The chip will be warm, but you can keep going is the key.
